I appreciate strange and exotic stuff. To put it simply I would like to try new stuff and if it suits my fancy I will get one, even if it appears a bit different at first. After all, I have discovered that despite their external looks they generally are rather good in what they’re required to do.
That’s why I’ve no difficulty with what many would consider a strange and exotic animal – the Bali huts. Yes, these little huts may seem strange initially but only for the uninitiated. One reason for its strange appearance is that unlike other garden structures like the pergola or the gazebo, these huts give off a fairly tropical or even Polynesian feel.
Which is not shocking since this is just the type of feel they are expected to get. After all they are Balinese inspired and for individuals who have heard about Bali it is as tropical and as Polynesian as they come.
Perhaps they are thrown off with the wooden structure. Sort of surprising if it were the case since the gazebo and also the pergola also are wooden structures. And wood sends out a natural aura so it combines in easily with virtually any garden landscape and theme – specifically a Balinese themed one at that.
It can’t be the open sided structure. After all,the pergola and the gazebo are open sided. Besides, having open sides ensures that there is nothing to impede the free flow of air so that you can anticipate feeling that breeze pass on through as you sit inside this structure – pretty nice if it’s hot out there.
Maybe it’s the roof. Indeed the roof is one thing that really looks unnatural since it is built from dried vegetation. Referred to as thatch, this kind of roofing material has been used for a long time by people living in tropical and also sub-tropical countries of the world. People of Bali reside in homes protected by thatch so you know it works.
Work it does and very efficient too. Together with the proper roof pitch, which all huts feature, the thatch can certainly shed water in the event it rains. The best part is when it gets too hot outside. Slip underneath it and let the thatch do its work, making you feel approximately 10 degrees cooler. That’s the thatch’s natural insulation right there.
It’s not like the roofing of the Bali huts Gold Coast are that extravagant. I mean, compare and contrast it with the ornate double roofs of the oriental gazebo and this roof in reality looks bland by comparison. Maybe it’s merely the thatch which makes people kind of wary but oh well, they do say “never judge a book by its cover” so in cases like this it must be “never judge a garden structure by its roofing.”
For people who currently have one in their backyard I’m sure they are enjoying it often. After all, anything you can do under a gazebo or pergola you can certainly enjoy under these tropical huts. Buying one for yourself is as simple as getting a DIY kit and building it yourself. But it shouldn’t be that tough to believe as you can also do the same with the gazebo and the pergola.
